On the morning of March 8, a humanitarian corridor opened for Sumy under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross and with the assistance of a number of foreign embassies. Since the beginning of a large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, this was the first time the aggressor agreed rescue civilians suffering from continued destruction by Putin's occupiers. Later, "green routes" began to work around Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy.  Meanwhile Mariupol is still under the siege. The enemy is constantly bombing and shelling the city, blocking the routes for refugees and humanitarian cargoes. More than 1500 civilians are killed.

For the second week off the reel, Mariupol residents survive without light, water, heat, almost without food and medicine, but they do not give up. Every day since March 10, the Ukrainian authorities have been sending evacuation vehicles and humanitarian convoys to the blocked city, but the Russian occupiers are breaking all agreements on providing corridors.

Official speakers in Kyiv say this is happening on Putin's personal instructions.
Let us recall the story of the Ukrainian troops leaving the Ilovaisk via "green route" in 2015. Then the humanitarian corridor was opened at the personal consent of the President of the Russian Federation. And, obviously, it was him, who insidiously ordered to commence fire on our units, which came out of the Ilovaysk pocket…

Today, the strategic directions of the Russian offensive are Kyiv and Mariupol, as an outpost of the defense of the Ukrainian South. The Armed Forces hold its defense firmly. Putin's troops are failing to capture these cities, so they are resorting to blockade and siege tactics. Now Putin wants Mariupol to surrender. The occupiers agreed on the evacuation of Mariupol residents through the only route determined by both sides, and then attacked in the direction of the humanitarian corridor trying to break into the city.

This is not the first such action by Putin's terrorists. The Russian side has repeatedly violated the agreement on the "green routes" and launched shelling. That is, Russian troops use humanitarian corridors to ensure their advance. Unfortunately, such tactics of ignoring the laws of conventional war, violation of any civilizational norms, has become commonplace for the Russian Federation. This country has long been involved in the substitution of concepts and distortion of reality. The special term "post-truth" have even been coined to describe this phenomenon.

Ukraine has been facing this since at least 2014. Thus, under pretext of saving the population of Donbass, Moscow sent to eastern Ukraine numerous "humanitarian convoys" loaded with weapons and ammunition. Empathy is a pretty strong thing, and Kremlin technologists have relied on it.

Valery Korol, a specialist in communication and content security, believes that every such "humanitarian convoy" into the occupied territories should have been officially recorded as an invasion of Ukraine by the Putin regime. And this position should be communicated to the global community. The same applies to humanitarian corridors. By agreeing to provide them, the occupiers often use them to carry out their own tactical tasks and, worst of all, to kill civilians in cold blood. According to one of the captured soldiers of the Russian army, they received such an order from their commanders.

According to the analyst, Putin's military hawks and the Kremlin administration are constantly turning peace talks, bilateral agreements, a humanitarian convoys, a humanitarian corridors - these and other terms and concepts that have worked in past confrontations - into elements of tactics and geostrategic weapons against democracy.

The war against Ukraine, ignited by Putin in 2014, destroyed the world’s security system. The Kremlin's full-scale aggression against Ukraine (in fact, the world) in February 2022 marked a new phenomenon today: the international community recognizes the current Russian political regime as an aggressor, and so they are ready to isolate and chase it economically. Nevertheless the specter of nuclear war stops them from taking part in taming a global terrorist. This path does not reduce the danger of world war, only delays its beginning.
